The Wilson Chronicles, Season One, Ends

Greetings

It's been slightly more than 10 months since Wilson, the Unbreakable Soccer Ball, joined in the quest to climb Washington State's largest mountain, and in the process raise funds to distribute virtually indestructible One World Futbols to children around the world.

That campaign winds down at the end of this month. While I and my hiking companion, Roger Matthews, were thwarted in our effort to scale the mountain, Wilson the Unbreakable made it, and in the process surpassed the goal of raising 100 balls for donation. The actual number of donations was 116 balls. But we went much farther than that, and here's where you'll find out about that: letters2wilson.blogspot.com.

In that new blog, which is the sequel to this one, we will tell how we well surpassed that initial objective, and how we plan to distribute those balls now that they have been raised. We hope to take you with us -- vicariously -- to the tough places where balls like Wilson are a godsend to children. So far, this is just an intent -- a dream if you will -- but, as Bloody Mary said (musical, South Pacific) "you gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?"

At this writing, if you are so inclined, it's still possible to donate a soccer ball for this cause by clicking on the donation link in the upper right corner of this page.

And if you just want to follow the rest of the story, allow me to direct you to Season 2 of the Wilson Chronicles, Letters to Wilson.

Love,
Robert
